Currently, the Lisbon region offers more than twenty golf courses. The tourism strategy plan for the entire region includes the development of events and the creation of a pass giving access to the various golf courses. A sport which is once again becoming an Olympic discipline this year and which blends perfectly with the other attractions of this part of Portugal.

“This is the third time that the Lisbon region has received this award and we are very proud of it. Once again, the excellence, quality and diversity of golf courses in our territory have been recognized at their true value. Each of the courses has been designed by a renowned architect and promises the golfer a unique experience ” explains Victor Costa, Director General of the Lisbon tourist association.

The golf courses have been carefully integrated into the natural environment of the Lisbon region. The temperate climate allows golfers to play in ideal conditions all year round. The award for Golf Destination of the Year in Europe was presented to the Lisbon Golf Coast during a gala held at Siam Park in Tenerife. It was presented during the last night of the “International Golf Travel Market” event.

Next event to come: The Cascais Golf Festival: from October 28 to 30 between the PestanaBeloura Golf Resort, Golf do Estoril and Belas Clube de Campo golf courses.
