The Chevron Championship opens the major ball from April 20 to 23
The Chevron Championship, the first major tournament of the year, will be held April 20-23 at Club Carlton Woods, located in The Woodlands, Texas.
A few weeks before the start of the first major tournament of the year, the excitement is growing at Chevron, its employees, members and staff of Carlton Woods, along with the residents of The Woodlands, are gearing up for an unforgettable LPGA event. josetta jones, head of diversity and inclusion at Chevron, said sponsoring former ANA Inspiration was an easy decision given their commitment to the sport. This is an opportunity to support women's tournaments at a higher level, thanks to their six-year partnership with the LPGA which began in 2022.
Josetta Jones, who is from the Houston area and returned to Texas after living in California, will join many local Chevron employees who want to volunteer and attend the tournament with families and children. We are determined to write the next chapter of this major tournament, given its importance and what it has brought to women's golf.“said Ms Jones.
The tournament saw 14 champions inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame. Stacy lewis, also a Houston native and 2011 Chevron Championship winner (then known as Kraft Nabisco), said that " the members and management of the Carlton Woods club are delighted to have been chosen to host this major championship. The support of the club and the community of The Woodlands will be essential in making this place a major magnificent site for this exciting new era. »
Lewis, who will be captain of the American teams of the Solheim cup in 2023 and 2024, will participate in its sixteenth Chevron Championship April 20-23. She expressed her excitement to be able to perform in front of her friends, family and community for a major championship, emphasizing the importance of this event.
