Ladies' Golf Union
Ladies' Golf Union is the amateur circuit for women golfers in England and Ireland.
It was founded in 1893. and is based in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. issette Pearson was the founder and the first secretary de LGU.
The LGU is governed by an elected council with equal representation from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. It is funded by the membership fees female golfers, et represents indirectly over two hundred thousand golfers. It deals with major policy issues, tournaments et international competitions in England and in Ireland. It has subsidiaries in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales who organize local tournaments, manage the handicap system, liaise with clubs, et promoting sport at local level.
LGU administered the Woman British Open, one of the main championships women's golf global, , here is open to professionals et today dominated by them. He also manages several championships de Big Brittany and Ireland : Hobbyist, Mid Amateur, Girls', Stroke Play, and the elderly. Furthermore, it there are several competitions for golfers of the club.
