Xavier Thuizat, Head Sommelier, honored by the MICHELIN Guide
Xavier Thuizat, Head Sommelier of the Hôtel de Crillon, was recognized by the MICHELIN Guide 2024 as winner of the Sommellerie Prize, thus recognizing his exceptional career, after a double consecration in 2023 of Best Sommelier of France and Best Worker of France .
Xavier Thuizat has passed through prestigious gastronomic institutions such as the Relais Bernard Loiseau, Le Meurice, Pierre Gagnaire and the Peninsula. The year 2023 marks a turning point in his career with a double award as Best Sommelier of France and Best Worker of France. A new distinction will be awarded to him in 2024, during the ceremony of MICHELIN Guide. This Sommellerie Prize cements his remarkable career.
Xavier Thuizat stands out for his expertise and skills, contributing in particular to the development of the hotel's cellar, which is one of the richest in France with more than 2 references. Also Rosewood Sommelier Europe, Xavier Thuizat continues to direct the programming around wines and spirits at the Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel, while highlighting that of the Rosewood group's European portfolio, as well as the activations and rewards linked to it. Being one of the greatest Sake connoisseurs, Xavier Thuizat is the third Frenchman to join the very closed circle of Sake Samouraï, designated by His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan to France.
With his title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France, Xavier Thuizat strives to transmit his knowledge and values to his colleagues, in the hope of training the next generation of talents. Originally from the emblematic wine region of Burgundy, Xavier Thuizat maintains a particular attachment to this land which he highlights through his profession.
