The Madison, an emblematic four-star hotel in the city of Corsairs, is the ideal stopover for a weekend or a golf getaway in the Basque Country.

Very popular with crowned heads and the French and Spanish aristocracy at the beginning of the XNUMXth centurye century, this historic hotel on the Basque coast has just been given a second wind thanks to the Olano family, which specializes in refrigerated transport and logistics. Reopened in December 2018 after seven years of hibernation, the Madison makes the heart of Saint-Jean-de-Luz beat again, with its feet almost in the water (the beach is 300 meters away), under the benevolent gaze of the pass of the Rhune on the horizon.

A beautiful Spa

Entirely renovated, this four-star hotel, more than a hundred years old, born in 1911, does not show its age. Comfortable and functional, the 32 Basque-inspired rooms – of course – are decorated with fabrics developed by Jean-Vier. The wellness area and its swimming pool are superb: golfers can forget their double bogeys there by opting for the Decléor signature treatment (combining wool flour, wheat germ and sunflower seeds for a rested and radiant complexion) from the Spa or relieve tension with a massage specially designed for athletes. The Madison is also the sunny terrace of a brasserie open for lunch and dinner and the traditional Basque cake in a tea room. Cosy, charming and relaxing, such is the winning triptych of this beautiful hotel on a human scale.

FOR GOLFERS

In addition to the Chantaco and Nivelle golf courses just a five-minute drive away, the Madison is located not far from the most famous courses in the Basque Country: Biarritz le Phare (20 minutes), Arcangues (20 mins) and Chiberta (25 mins).
