2020 will be remembered for many things, but it will go down in LET history as Denmark's Emily Kristine Pedersen wins Andalucía Costa Del Sol at the Open De Espana, achieving a perfect final lap 66 (-6) bogey virgin for a victory four strokes ahead of Nuria Iturrioz who was playing on her home run.

A model of consistency all year round, the 24-year-old has won five LET titles in 12 starts and becomes the first player since Marie-Laure de Lorenzi in 1989 to win three tournaments in a row.

The Dane returns home with the winner's bonus of € 90, Pedersen also collected € 000 for the first Race to Costa del Sol and ends the year with a total gain of € 20.

Accompanied by his father for his sixth career victory, Pedersen very moved, said:
«It was very special to be with my dad here he made me play golf and he was a great support throughout the course, he kept me going when I was down and it's really great for me to have him here and win this amazing trophy. I was really happy to experience something really positive and good with him because he is always by my side off the ropes and now he won with me on the course. "

«I can't believe I won the Race to Costa del Sol, it has always been a dream of mine and I'm so happy not only to play well this year but to win it here this week in Spain. The last few months have been amazing »

Nuria Iturrioz, three-time LET winner, fought valiantly at home in front of her supporters recovering from a shaky start to record a final round of 69 (-3) and finish in second place in solo. The Spaniard leaves with a consolation prize of € 51629.

The 7th in the Race to Costa del Sol, said:
«Little by little, I made the adjustments I need to be there, and I just have to congratulate Emily because what she has done this year is spectacular. I was already telling him on the 17th and I'm very happy with my attitude. Today was a rough day at first, but I'm very happy because I fought, and it was a little more fun ».

The smiling Spaniard continued: “In quarantine, she must have worked very well and mentally, I see that she is very strong. I hope she can continue like this because it will be a pleasure to play with her every year ”.

Rising star Ana Pelaez also made history, registering the long-time best amateur result on the LET program. Playing with her idol Azahara Munoz, the 22-year-old is one to watch for the future playing a very solid final lap 67 (-5) to finish third in solo.

«I think I could have asked to win, but today was super full. I played very good golf, I put myself to the test by playing with Azahara because there are sensations that I did not know, that today I had to live and I knew how to master. I think I can't ask for much more ».

Parisian Manon Gidali ended her season on the LET on a very encouraging note by securing a nice 6th place on the southern course of Real Guadalmina on the Costa del Sol. The Frenchwoman thus won her 2nd individual top 10 this season after a 4th place obtained in March in South Africa. At 27, she pocketed more than 17000 euros with this sixth place that she shared with Cloe Frankish and Azahara Munoz, the Spanish star of the Solheim Cup.

Céline Herbin and Astrid Vayson de Pradenne finished respectively in 30th and 46th place.
