Amy Yang, also known as Yang Hey-Young (Korean: 양희영, born 28 July 1989) is a professional golfer korean, playing on the LPGA tour based in the United States et on the Ladies European Tour (LET).

Biography

Amateur career

Yang started playing golf at age 10 in his native Korea and moved to Australia's Gold Coast with his family at age 15 to take golf more seriously.

In 2005, she won the Queensland Amateur Championship, the youngest winner of that championship. In 2006, while still playing as an amateur, she won the ANZ Ladies Masters on the Ladies European Tour (LET), making her the youngest winner on the LET at the age of 16, 192 days.

Career

After her victory at the ANZ Ladies Masters, LET offered Yang a special exemption from compulsory membership for three years from the age of 17, provided she attends the championships with her parents until that she turns 18. She recorded four top-20 finishes in 2007 while attending high school.

In June 2008, Yang claimed her second LET victory with a four stroke victory at the Ladies German Open. After winning it, Yang announced that she was donating her entire prize of $ 61,260 to victims of a recent earthquake in China.

The following December, she returned to LPGA qualifying school, this time earning full professional status for 2009 by placing second in the five-round event.

On October 20, 2013, Yang won his first LPGA tournament at the KEB-HanaBank LPGA Championship. She birdied the first hole of sudden death in the playoff to defeat Hee Kyung Seo.

On March 1, 2015, Yang won his second LPGA championship at the Honda LPGA Thailand.
