The next sale of Artcurial Motorcars, which will take place on February 5, 2016 at the Retromobile show, is already shaping up to be a historic vacation still full of promise and records with a selection of exceptional lots. The official Retromobile auction, organized by Artcurial Motorcars, is one of the largest in the world for classic cars. Last year, the sale totaled € 52 million, costs included, becoming the largest collector car sale ever organized in continental Europe. The 2015 edition was marked by the dispersal of the Baillon collection, which attracted thousands of collectors and fans every day at the doors of the Retromobile Salon. Sold for € 16,3 million / $ 18,5 million, the 250 Ferrari 1961GT SWB California Spider from the collection is the most expensive collector car in the world sold at auction during the 2014/2015 season.

This Ferrari is the last produced copy of this iconic model for the first time offered for sale with an estimate of between € 9m - € 12m / $ 10m - $ 13,2m. Its provenance is just as exceptional as it has been in the hands of the great Swiss collector Antoine Midy since 1989. Preserved by his family since his death, this work of art, matching numbers / matching colors, has never been offered. on the market in 30 years.

1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider Ex Gianni Agnelli

This Testarossa spider is the only model officially ordered and built by Ferrari for the attention of Gianni Agnelli, president of Fiat at the time. Created in a convertible version, its silver color refers to the abbreviation AG (silver) of the periodic table of the elements.

This abbreviation also appears to be the first two letters of the name of Gianni Agnelli. Its blue stripes above the black rocker panels and its “white hood” make this car an exceptional model.

Moonbeam III (Moonbeam of Fife), 1903

In addition to a selection of exceptional vehicles, the 2016 edition of the Retromobile sale will highlight another equally prestigious mode of transport with this Classic Yacht. Designed and launched in April 1903 by William Fife III, Moonbeam III is the third of its four boats bearing the same name, launched between 1858 and 1920. Moored in Saint-Tropez, its home port for several years, it participates in the most large gatherings of vintage sailing ships. Moonbeam III benefits from a complete refit in 2004 and will be presented at auction without reserve price. It has been estimated between € 500 - € 000 million / $ 1,5 - $ 550 million.

1961 Aston Martin DB4 chassis DB4 / 679 / L

This Aston Martin DB4 with left hand drive was sold new in France. On board, an original engine with three carburetors from 1962 meeting all the Vantage specifications of the time. It is a unique model, ordered with a DB4 GT dashboard.

A record year for Artcurial Motorcars

2015 is the year of consecration for Artcurial Motorcars which confirms its position as leader in Continental Europe in the auction of classic cars.
