Following the successful live broadcast of FedExCup Playoffs 2016, the PGA Tour has announced that Twitter will be the exclusive global platform to distribute, on a free basis, more than 70 hours of live competition coverage from the 31 tournaments of the 2016-17 season.

A Live Streaming partnership between Twitter and the PGA Tour

Twitter will begin live streaming at the CareerBuilder Challenge on January 19 and will end in the season-ending Tour Championship. Coverage will typically include the first 60 to 90 minutes of the early morning hours of Thursday and Friday of the PGA TOUR LIVE Over-The-Top (OTT) on a global basis. This coverage will include pre-game analysis, Interviews, beach coverage, and live competition from the first two holes of the PGA TOUR ELS each day.

The live streams will be available to connected devices and connected public on Twitter and can be found at PGATourLive.twitter.com and following @PGATourLive. The partnership also includes opportunities for advertisers, including television-style mid-roll spot packages, combined with original clips produced by the PGA Tour, available for sponsorship and promotion on Twitter.

The partnership also includes the expansion of Twitter's PGA TOUR and Amplify programs, with regular content creation through Twitter and Periscope.

"Twitter and the PGA Tour have worked together on Twitter Amplify for many years, and the program has been a huge success for both companies"said Rick Anderson, PGA TOUR chief media officer. “Streaming live PGA TOUR programming to the global Twitter audience, along with the millions of users who follow @PGATOUR and hundreds of PGA TOUR player accounts, will provide innovative new ways for sports fans to commit to our premium OTT offer. "

“The PGA Tour continues to transform the experience of its fans on Twitter, the place where golf conversations take place live every day. "said Anthony Noto, COO on Twitter. “Our collaboration with supplier PGA TOUR will give our fans around the world access to live streaming of PGA Tour events on Twitter while following the conversation on one screen.
