Launched in 2012 and sponsored by Jean Van de Velde, Ambassador of UNICEF France, the Jean Van de Velde Trophy for UNICEF Profit is a tournament, organized nationwide, over twenty stages, open to licensed amateur golfers, whose entry fees are donated to UNICEF

20160525_TropheeJeanVanVeldeUN UNICEF_01Firste edition of the Jean Van de Velde Trophy takes place this year, from April 10 to October 8, in 26 prestigious golf courses throughout France. The final will take place on the legendary Golf National course on October 8. The funds collected will be directly allocated to a child protection program, aimed at combating violence and sexual exploitation, including sex tourism, in Madagascar.

The choice to help the children of Madagascar is no accident since it is the country where Jean Van de Velde carried out his first field mission, as UNICEF Ambassador, in June 2013. Very marked by this experience, he insisted that the Jean Van de Velde Trophy for the benefit of UNICEF could help improve the daily life of the children he met.

"Schools, nutritional centers, emergency reception centers and child protection ... All these visits made during this trip to Madagascar, allowed me to discover, in a very concrete way, what the teams of UNICEF are on the ground to help children. Being involved, discussing with people, seeing how we can help them and what we are going to do, being part of an evolution, it's really very motivating ”, he declared then.

Accessible to all, for a minimum registration fee of € 15, fully donated to UNICEF France, the UNICEF Trophy competitions attract more and more players year after year. Since 2012, they have raised more than 160 euros to help vulnerable children in Sri Lanka and Madagascar.

“Seeing the work of UNICEF on the ground convinced me that the nerve of war is to raise funds. I hope this 4e edition will raise awareness among a growing public of the cause of children and that the fundraising will increase again this year to build a better future and protect the children of Madagascar, ” He explains.

Once again this year, the historic partners of the Trophy have responded: Crédit Agricole Banque Privée, Randstad, Amundi and Journal du Golf.
