LeClub Golf, a subsidiary of NGFGOLF, is one of the most important golf course networks in the World. Present in 18 countries and with nearly 400 affiliated golf courses, it is the promoter of a unique event:

The Amateur Golf World Cup

10 countries (Spain, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Sweden for Europe and the USA, Australia, South Korea, New Zealand, and Japan for the rest of the world) will compete in a 54-hole competition to be proclaimed World Amateur Golf Champion.

The competition is open to all amateur golfers in possession of an official index. At the end of a qualifying challenge in each participating country, the Amateur Golf World Cup will be celebrated from 23 to 27 May 2016 on the prestigious Pete Dye course.

In order to be open to as many players as possible, each team will be made up of 2 players, each from a different category:

• 1st Category: index less than 12
• 2nd Category: index greater than or equal to 12

The World Cup will take place over 54 holes (1 round in scramble and 2 rounds in individual stableford). The result of each round will take into account the sum of the gross and net points of the day, the world champion team will be the one which will obtain the most points at the end of the 3 rounds.

Each participating country will have organized a national challenge to qualify its 2 representatives for the Amateur Golf World Cup, which represents more than 300 tournaments and a participation of more than 24.000 players from all over the world.

The 2 finalists from each Country will be invited, fully taken care of, for 5 days at the luxurious Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort & SPA, a magnificent complex recently inaugurated in New Caledonia.

In parallel to the official competition, there will be an “Invitational” tournament open to supporters, sponsors and foreign and local journalists covering the event.

The 2016 France final

At the end of January, the participants of the Club Med Challenge final had the chance to meet at Club Med in Marrakech. After two rounds of competition played on the courses of the Royal Golf of Marrakech and the Palm Golf Marrakech, Eric Gounord (Country Club Norges Dijon Bourgogne) and Marie-Hélène Desmurger (Golf du Château d'Avoise) qualified for the 1st edition of “The Amateur World Cup 2016 ″ which will take place in New Caledonia in May 2016.
