SWING! Golf is back at the Games
After 112 years of absence, golf returns to the program of the Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio! To mark this event, the Olympic Museum is devoting an exhibition to it, which will be previewed from December 9, 2015 to January 31, 2016 in Lausanne (Switzerland).
Present at two editions of the Games (Paris 1900 and Saint Louis 1904), golf finds swings with an Olympic accent. The scenography presented in several "holes", offers a "course" to the visitor to learn all about this discipline before the next Games: its origins, equipment, rules, courses and the greatest icons of golf. No "green fee" required at the entrance, the exhibition is free.
Take advantage of it before her imminent departure for Rio de Janeiro where it will be presented in the fan zone reserved for golf during the Games.
A course in several "holes":
The exhibition, which aims to swing around the world, focuses on a course in 6 "pars" which guides the visitor to the discovery of Golf.
Six (6) themes are addressed:
- Golf today;
- Equipment;
- The game ;
- The emblematic golf courses;
- Golf and its champions;
- Golf at the Olympic Games.
Production and contributors:
This exhibition is produced by the Olympic Museum in partnership with the International Golf Federation (IGF) with the scientific collaboration of the World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum (USA), the R&A (United Kingdom), the USGA Museum and Golf Canada . The scenography is imagined by the Caravane workshop.
