Like every year, the Austin Country Club hosts the WGC DELL Technologies Match Play. This course offers players many different strategies and allows spectators to witness spectacular encounters: hole 18, a short par 4 that can be used as a driver, is often the scene of daring shots to clinch a victory.

The tournament begins with pool matches, sixteen pools of four players divided according to world ranking. These matches were marked by the domination of certain top players in their group like Brooks Koepka, Kevin Kisner or Dustin Johnson: all three won their three matches.

The round of 7, the first stage of the knockout matches, offered some surprises such as the heavy defeat of Collin Morikawa, 6&1 against the Mexican Abraham Ancer, or the elimination of world number XNUMX Jon Rahm by Brooks Koepka after a play hole -off.

The quarter-finals brought together top foes Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson for one game. After a tough battle, it was finally the winner of the 2020 Masters who won on the 18th hole. Kevin Kisner, Scottie Scheffler and Corey Conners are also in the semi-finals.

During the semi-finals, Kevin Kisner won his match against Corey Conners after a tight encounter, 1 UP for the former winner of the event.

Dustin Johnson was quickly manhandled in his match by Scottie Scheffler, two-time winner on the PGA Tour this season. 5 DOWN after 11 holes, the former world number 1 reacts by winning four holes in a row to pick up at 1 DOWN. However, Scottie Scheffler was able to turn things around with two birdies on 16 and 17 to win the match 3&1 and advance to the final.

The world number 5 will not leave any chance to Kevin Kisner in the final: he did not lose any hole. With five birdies for no error, Scottie Scheffler wins 4&3 and wins his first world championship.

Corey Conners defeats Dustin Johnson in the small final for third place.

This third victory for Scottie Scheffler sounds like a thunderbolt: he has simply won three of the last five tournaments in which he has participated. On the Tour since 2020, he had not won any tournaments in 70 participations. This recent domination on the PGA Tour allows him to take first place in the world rankings at 25 years old.
