After eighteen months of work and renovations, the Transpalette art center, a project led by the Emmetrop association, established since 1998 on the cultural wasteland Antre-Peaux in Bourges, will reopen on October 8.

Its spaces have been enlarged, modified, making it possible to redeploy a committed and innovative policy questioning the contemporary identity and the state of our world. As part of the very first stage of a global redevelopment of the wasteland, the Pallet Truck has been given a facelift and has become a real hub, a flexible link between desires, knowledge, knowledge, experiences of doubt and artistic intervention. Its inaugural exhibition, titled Entropia, which will be presented from October 8, 2016 to January 8, 2017, will offer a first experience, through the work of SMITH, Art Orienté Objet (AOO), Quimera Rosa, and interventions on different times from many other guest artists.

For eighteen years, in the Center-Loire Valley region, the Transpalette has been a territory of experimentation and a place of eclectic / electric resistance in the influx of the Emmetrop association, of which it is one of the components. Emmetrop has stood out since its creation in 1984 by an intersectional activist attitude, open to all modes of expression: music and performance, theater, visual arts and contemporary dance, sound creations ... Established on the cultural wasteland Antre-peaux whose first phase of the vast renovation project has just been completed, Emmetrop is building a new program for which the Pallet Truck is the spearhead. An agitator of conscience, a crossroads of heterogeneous practices, an explorer of emerging arts, an intellectual adventurer, a clearer of new fields of thought, the Transpalette pursues and deepens Emmetrop's commitment, also giving it an unprecedented national and international resonance.

From this emancipatory genealogy was born Entropia, both an exhibition and a multi-sequential event, an interstellar landing zone for friction, plastic interventions, conferences, performances, concerts… Entropia is above all a dialogue between SMITH artists, the Object Oriented Art duo (AOO) and Quimera Rosa. If SMITH focuses on a strange case that had seen the fusion of two Soviet bodies and souls, AOO questions the increasingly tenuous boundaries between art and knowledge, between artistic intervention and science. As for Quimera Rosa, they will graft their TransPlant laboratory for two weeks at the heart of the exhibition, questioning the porous borders between humans and plants.

Entropia therefore becomes a stimulating place where sculptures of two interpenetrating bodies intersect, phosphorescent plants in radioactive glass, a video on the philosopher Aby Warburg, documents on the Soviet space conquest, photographs of beings transformed into specters . An exhibition that is all the more multifaceted as it hosts a choreography / performance by François Chaignaud on the opening night, followed in November by the creation of the laboratory and performance TransPlant: Green is The New Red by Quimera Rosa. At regular intervals, other disturbances, other contaminating thoughts will take place in the course: the intervention of Chloé (KTDJ), a sound proposal by Sister Iodine and the Carton group, a workshop of critical reading of the Manifesto Chthulucéne de Santa Cruz de Donna Haraway. Finishing, the ultimate decryption, will activate conference, projection, reading and meetings, with artists and scientists.

Transpalette is now a HUB, a platform for connections, transformations, changes, bringing into play paradigms with a high rate of disorder and uncertainty in matter! For Entropia, biology, video, astrophysics, sculpture, installation, literature, dance, philosophy, sound, photography, tattoo studio, anthropology, as many practices or areas of knowledge will demonstrate the organic mix that now presides over the construction of our knowledge.
