After big events with the Genesis Invitational or the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the PGA Tour is entering one of the biggest weeks of the season with the Players Championship. Since 1974, the prestigious TPC Sauwgrass course has welcomed players on one of the most technical courses on the circuit. The course designed by Peter Dye is the scene of what is considered by many to be the fifth major.

The PLAYERS will offer this year a record endowment with a total of 20 million dollars. It is also like every year, the tournament that offers the most world points outside the majors, with 80 points for the winner (against 100 in the majors). 47 of the world's top 50 players will be at Sawgrass for the hottest player field this season.

It is Justin Thomas who will try to defend his title acquired in 2021 at Ponte Vedra Beach. He will be associated with Collin Morikawa and Rory McIlroy for the first two days. This part includes seven major titles, two victories at PLAYERS and more than twenty victories on the Tour.

The course will surely offer twists thanks to its last four holes where the tournament can be reversed. We remember Rickie Fowler's festival in 2015: -5 on the last four holes with birdie 15, eagle 16, birdie 17 and birdie 18 to snatch a play-off from which he will emerge victorious.

No French will participate in this event.
