With its 393 courses, New Zealand is the second country in the world after Scotland, to have the highest number of courses per inhabitant.

From the start of 2015, a new hotel will delight fans of real Links! This opening will launch the long-awaited 2015 season, notably with the BMW Open of New Zealand.

Kinloch Club Villas, a new hotel for Golf lovers

Located near Lake Taupa, in the North Island, this splendid course will host a magnificent hotel from the start of 2015. Indeed, the 18 holes of Kinloch Club, signed by Jack Nicklaus, already offered a real experience of Links. The American magazine Travel & Leisure had hailed it in its ranking of the 10 best courses in the world.

Kinloch Club Villas will offer beautiful junior suites and two and three bedroom villas.
In addition to the golf course, the hotel will provide tennis, gym, spa, swimming pool, fly fishing, hunting, water sports and skiing during the winter season.

The hotel can also accommodate weddings, seminars and conferences.

What's new on the side of other golf courses?

A new course for the Millbrook Resort
The Millbrook Resort Golf Club in Queenstown is acquiring 66 hectares adjacent to the resort. This extension will allow him to go from his current 27 holes to a real double course.
The year 2015 will also be marked by the co-organization with the Hills of Queenstown of the 2015 New Zealand Open.

The Royal Wellington extends its course, designed by Turner Macpherson, to 27 holes. This arrangement makes Royal Wellington one of the must in terms of Golf destinations.

The Kauri Cliffs has just unveiled a major change for its 5th hole. Indeed,
this seaside Par 3 will now be played as a par 3 drop shot. Other notable changes are the addition of tees on the 2nd and 9th holes and the renovation of the bunker on the 4th hole.
The works were carried out in collaboration with the famous Resse Jones, "The Open Doctor".

The 2015 BMW New Zealand Open

The BMW New Zealand Open is the only tournament in Pro-Am format in the Asia-Pacific region which is open to amateurs. From March 12 to 15, 2015, the Hills and the Millbrook Resort in Queenstown will host this competition sponsored by the BMW group.

The tournament will welcome nearly 140 amateurs and 140 professionals playing side by side.

Professionals will compete for the title of the BMW New Zealand Open. While simultaneously playing in best-ball format, double teams combining professionals and amateurs for the Pro-Am championship in New Zealand.

The premium is set at 1 million New Zealand dollars, or more than € 615.

The tournament will be covered live by Sky TV, a New Zealand channel and by Japan Golf Network (8 million subscribers). No less than 200 million viewers are expected. Among the tournament partners are the Government of New Zealand, the Organization of Japan Golf Tour, and the Queenstown Lakes District Council Events Foundation.
