The Château de la Messardière, traditionally recognized as a Mecca for hotels and culture in Saint-Tropez, also became a Mecca for sport on Saturday evening, celebrating the victories of its own international golf competition (on a circuit comprising 28 stages in renowned golf courses in France and abroad, among the most renowned in the amateur world).

In the presence of the 1st Deputy Mayor of Saint-Tropez, Mr Claude BERARD, also Deputy Culture and Heritage, and Mr Laurent PETIT, Sports Assistant, the Messardiere Golf Cup, Race to Saint-Tropez Awards ceremony 2014 ended in joy and good humor, washed down with a few good bottles of Domaine Bertaud Belieu and a new partner who seduced golfers, "The Blonde of Saint-Tropez".

Alexandre DURAND-VIEL, General Manager of Château de la Messardière, and his whole team welcomed the winners and all the partners of this circuit as they should, in the marvelous setting of his 5 star - Palace.

On the sporting level, the final competition of the “Messardiere Golf Cup, Race to Saint-Tropez 2014”, was played in the enchanting setting of the Golf of Saint-Endréol, under a radiant sun, for the pleasure of all players came from several French, Belgian, Luxembourg, and British regions.

The high level of Amateur Golf was represented, since out of the 49 participants, around twenty of them displayed a classification of 1st series, with single-digit indexes. The places on the podium were very tight, since the big winner of this competition, Stéphane Hassler (index 0, 4), achieved the score of 32 stableford brut points, barely 4 strokes above the Par, by d '' Only 1 point his rival from Sainte-Maxime, Yves Jouannas (index 4,2), and 2 points
only, the young Parisian Yvon Legrand, coming straight from the Golf National.

In the net classification, it is the Parisian Jean-Michel Fava which comes widely at the head, on the score of 45 points stableford. In second position, another Parisian, Christophe Tallis (38 points stableford). André Di Luca, member of the Golf de Sainte-Maxime, climbed on the 3rd step of the podium with 36 stableford points, tied with Baulois Philippe Pirotais.

In women, it was the Nice-born Virginie Malfait (index 14,6), who won the competition with a score of 21 stableford gross.

Among the Friends of the Messardière, it should be noted that Florence Guyot (Member of the Golf de Beauvallon) won the drive competition, and Bernard Bellissent (also member of the Golf de Beauvallon), the approach competition. He received a jeroboam from Domaine Bertaud Belieu. The Drive Men's competition was won by excellent hitter David Bywalski.

The next day, Golf Blue Green in Sainte-Maxime welcomed all these best players, who have the privilege of playing an 18 hole Play-Off along the Mediterranean…

The Château de la Messardière is now preparing for the 3rd edition of the “Messardiere Golf Cup, Race to Saint-Tropez” which will take place in 2015 from mid-April (at the same time as the reopening of the hotel) in mid-October , around forty dates in France and Europe.
