This race which totals 1 km of effort for 000 m of elevation gain brings together 30 competitors from 000 nations among the best mushers in the world. Men and women are entered in the same race for the same classification and the same passion.

A unique racing concept

The Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc is the fruit of a dream of a great adventure that would cross our Alpine massifs when the standard of this sport, for decades, was to run on frozen expanses with little relief. This dream imagined by Nicolas Vanier and Henry Kam became a reality in January 2005 during the 1st edition of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc.

Megève offers an extraordinary race start

The race will start at 19 p.m. on the runway from the altiport to Cote 2000, a must-see in Megève. The 21km course will combine 510m ascent and 510m descent (or 28km of effort) on an exclusively Nordic course.

New for 2016: the Baby Odyssée Megève

Unique in Megève, the Baby Odyssée is the new race dedicated to children aged 4 and 5.
The concept: a child, a baby sled and a dog will circulate on a 400m circuit completely secure thanks to the implementation of the brand new Baby Park training protocol.
The little mushers will use the same starting infrastructure as that used two hours later by the champions of the Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc (audience, official speaker, decor) to make the dreams of these little champions come true.

A village that looks like the far north

From 15 p.m. to 18 p.m., a free Far North activity will be offered in the center of Megève. A musher will be present with his team to make everyone discover his passion for this unique discipline.
