The LPGA Tour announced yesterday that it will resume its 2020 season on July 31, with back-to-back events in Northwest Ohio.

The LPGA Classic Marathon presented by Dana, scheduled to take place July 23-26 at the Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio, responded to the LPGA's request to change its dates and will now be held August 6-9. The LPGA Classic Marathon, one of the oldest events on the LPGA Tour, will allow spectators to be on-site, following the recent endorsement of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.

This schedule adjustment allows the LPGA Tour to add a new three-day event in the Toledo region and provide its members with an additional opportunity to play during the shortened season of 2020. The tour will now revert to the compete with a new event for the 2020 season, the LPGA Drive On Championship. The official three-day tournament will take place July 31 through August 2 at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. Televised on the Golf Channel, the Drive On LPGA Championship will feature a field of 144 players who will compete for a million dollars and will take place without sponsors, pro-ams or spectators. It will allow LPGA Tour players and viewers to rediscover the famous Inverness club, which has hosted the US Opens and USGA National Championships, PGA Championships, NCAA Championships and which will host the Solheim Cup 2021.
