Jon Rahm, world number 1 2021, returns to victory at the Mexico Open, winning with a lead. The Spaniard had not won since his title at the US Open 2021, his first major. This victory allows him to get closer to the current world number 1 Scottie Scheffler.

The PGA Tour was stepping outside its borders in Mexico this week for the Mexico Open at Vidanta. It is finally the favorite, seeded number 1, Jon Rahm who imposes himself on the course of Vidanta Vallarta. He returned a last card of 69 (-2) on Sunday to win with a stroke ahead of the trio Kitayama, Wu and Finau. He thus adds a seventh victory on the PGA Tour to his list. This victory also reveals an impressive statistic: the Spaniard has finished almost half the time in the top 10 since the start of his career: 123 tournaments, seven victories, 39 podiums and 60 top 10s.

Tony Finau signs his first podium since winning the Northern Trust, one of the FedEx Cup play-offs. He had so far only signed a top 10 since the end of the 2021 season on the American circuit. After narrowly passing the Cut, the American signed a brilliant weekend with cards of 66 (-5) then 63 (-8) on Sunday. He signs six birdies for an eagle on Sunday and signs the co-best card of the last round.

Brandon Wu also returns a card of 63 (-8) with six birdies and an eagle to hang a second place. This good performance allows him to gain 100 places in the world ranking, he is now 229th.

Paul Barjon, the only Frenchman entered this week, unfortunately does not pass the Cut for once. He renders cards of 70 (-1) and 71 (PAR).
