The Organizing Committee for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games has made it official: the Grand Dôme in Villebon-sur-Yvette and the National Rugby Center (CNR) in Marcoussis will be listed in the Olympic Games catalog which will be submitted in January 2021 to 206 National Olympic Committees and 184 National Paralympic Committees around the world.

The candidatures of the two sites, carried by the agglomeration, were retained. They will be able to welcome Olympic and Paralympic staff and athletes during their period of preparation for the Games, between summer 2021 and summer 2024.

The Dojo du Grand Dôme, belonging to the French Judo Federation, offers 2 m600 of tatami mats, ie 2 combat surfaces. Its recent equipment meets high-level sporting requirements. It integrates the catalog for international Olympic and Paralympic judo, Olympic and Paralympic taekwondo and wrestling teams.

The CNR, supported by the French Rugby Federation, could welcome foreign delegations of rugby sevens and football under optimal conditions. A privileged training site for the French teams, this sports complex is at the cutting edge in terms of physical preparation and recovery thanks to its complete technical equipment (grounds, weight room, swimming pool, accommodation, etc.).

On the territory of the agglomeration, a third site was selected: the Roger Antoine gymnasium, which was nominated by the city of Palaiseau. It will be particularly aimed at basketball and table tennis teams.

The quality of our equipment, local services, and the strengths of our region, where the calm of the countryside and the dynamism of the Ile-de-France region combine, will attract international teams. The agglomeration with sports federations and municipalities, are mobilizing so that here, live the games!

“This is excellent news for our entire territory. First, because it is recognition of the quality of the sports equipment selected, but also because it is the opportunity, from next summer, to benefit from the international visibility of the Olympic Games. We will be alongside sports federations and municipalities to attract the biggest teams to Paris-Saclay. "

Grégoire de Lasteyrie President of the Paris-Saclay community

“Sport is a mixture of emotions, it's sharing. Our community, made up of 27 municipalities, will wear the colors of the 2024 Olympics, thanks to its equipment and the proactive actions that will come together around the games. We are very proud to participate in the organization of the Olympic Games, it is an opportunity for our territory and all the municipalities that make it up. Long live sport! ".
