The LPGA Tour, after stages in Asia, returns to American soil, more precisely to California for the JTBC Classic presented by Barbasol.

It was the world number 1 Jin Young Ko who best tamed the course of the Aviara Golf Club during this first round with a card of 65 (-7). The South Korean signs seven birdies and no errors on her scorecard to take a lead over Denmark's Nanna Koerstz Madsen. Jin Young Ko has been on an incredible streak in recent weeks, having won four of the last five tournaments she has participated in (she finished 6th in the tournament where she did not win).

We find at the top of the leaderboard other players from the world top 5 like Lydia Ko, sixth with a card of 68 (-4), or Danielle Kang, a shot behind the New Zealander at -3.

The scores of our French women:

With four birdies for two bogeys, Agathe Laisné scores 70 (-2) and ranks 27th, five shots behind Jin Young Ko.

Pauline Roussin-Bouchard signs two birdies for as many bogeys and returns a card in the PAR of 72. She ranks 67th.

Perrine Delacour also signs two birdies but marred by a triple bogey on hole seven. She returns a card of 73 (+1) and ranks 87th.

The provisional Cut is the PAR, so it will be imperative for our French women to score on the second day to hope to play over the weekend.
