Jaguar returns to racing

Formula E offers Jaguar the unique opportunity to continue developing its electric drivelines, including engine and battery technologies.

Electric vehicles will certainly have their place in the future Jaguar product line. Land Rover and Formula E will provide us with the opportunity to continue to develop electrification technologies. The Championship will allow us to design and test the very latest technologies in extreme conditions.

I sincerely believe that we are going to see more changes in the automotive world in the next five years than in the past three decades. The future is more connected and more sustainable; electrification and weight reduction technologies are more important than ever due to increasing urbanization. Formula E is aware of this and has reacted to these trends, the championship is a pioneer and corresponds perfectly to our brand. "

The Jaguar Formula E team will be able to rely on the 8.000 Jaguar Land Rover engineers who will work closely with the team's operational team.

These engineers will not only be able to apply their knowledge in a competitive environment but above all to extract data from it and push the limits of electrical technologies.

Williams Advanced Engineering will be the technical partner of the Jaguar team and will bring its expertise in motor racing as well as its experience and success in the field of high performance EV systems. Jaguar Land Rover has a long history of working with Williams who partnered with Jaguar to develop the Jaguar C-X75 plug-in hybrid concept. The team's participation was granted by Formula E and approved by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).

Jaguar is a brand with a rich sporting history and the fact that it is returning to international sport with Formula E proves the influence that the championship can have on the development of electric cars. . By preparing for the future of the electric car, Formula E has succeeded in attracting one of the most prestigious historic brands in the automotive industry. I wish them all the best while waiting for them to join us in 2016/2017. "

Given our objectives in terms of EV, Formula E has easily won. The FIA and the promoter have interesting plans for the future and we are proud to be among the first manufacturers to hire our own team. There is a lot of work ahead of us before our first race, but it's a challenge that we can't wait to take on. We hope to welcome a new generation of fans through this program. "
