The original concept of "The most beautiful electric car in the world" having generated extremely positive reactions, Jaguar decided to offer the electric Type-E for sale. This announcement stems from the success of the electric concept of the iconic sports car presented at the Jaguar Land Rover Tech Fest in 2017.

By combining its expertise in terms of catering, with the advanced technologies of the Jaguar I-PACE - the zero-emission sports SUV - Jaguar Classic will offer tailor-made Type-E, transformed in the Classic Works premises in Coventry, in the UK, where the remarkable Type-E Reborn are restored.

A conversion service will also be offered to owners of existing vehicles. To preserve the authenticity of the original car, the transformation will be fully reversible.

“We were very pleasantly surprised by the positive reactions generated by the Type-E Zero concept. By thus ensuring the durability of vintage cars, Jaguar Classic is taking a major step forward in its development. The E-Type Zero highlights the incredible history of the E-Type and the expertise of Classic Works, while confirming Jaguar Land Rover's commitment to zero-emission vehicles at all levels, including at Jaguar Classic . Not only does the Jaguar Type-E Zero concept look and drive the same as an E-Type, but it also delivers outstanding performance and superior acceleration to the original E-Type 1-Series.

Jaguar Classic will offer a range of more than 270 km for all electric E-Type, thanks to the car's contained weight and its aerodynamic finesse. Its 40kWh battery can be recharged in 6 to 7 hours depending on the source of electricity.

With the exception of its state-of-the-art engine and modified dashboard including a latest-generation multimedia touchscreen (available as an option), the Type-E Zero concept is largely original. LED front lights add the finishing touch to this iconic design.

The electric motor with single ratio reduction gear was designed specifically for the E-Type using many components of the Jaguar I-PACE. Its lithium-ion battery pack has the same dimensions and similar weight to the 6-cylinder XK engine used on the original E-Type; moreover, it occupies the same location as the XK engine.

The electric motor is mounted just behind the battery pack in place of the Type-E gearbox. A new drive shaft sends power to the differential and the final drive.

The use of an electric powertrain similar in weight and dimensions to the original petrol engine allowed the structure of the car to be retained, including the suspension and brakes; the transformation is thus simplified and the impressions on the steering wheel preserved. As the front-to-rear weight distribution has also been maintained, its handling, handling and braking are similar to those of the original E-Type.

This new version of the Type-E Zero concept, in Bespoke Bronze finish, will be presented for the first time in the United States at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering this Friday, August 24.
