Annabel Dimmock, who has her father with her bag this week, leads the standings one step ahead of Germany's Olivia Cowan.

The 24-year-old defending champion hit the course very early and picked up where she left off in 2019, making five birdies and missing just one shot to end up four under par for. the first round.

“It was weird, I didn't really have any expectations today. Last week I wasn't hitting well, and I wasn't in great shape, but I feel it almost helped me get out there and have some fun ”said Dimmock, who turned pro in 2015.

"I think it channeled the good vibes from before, remembering some hits and it messed me up and gave me a bit of momentum knowing that I won here the last time I was at this tournament. I am happy with my day. "

Cowan, who finished 20th in the Race to Costa del Sol last season, sits second in the standings. The 25-year-old completed a 68, including five birdies and two bogeys.

Five players are tied for third place - two strokes behind the leader - including French Lucie Malchirand, who won the Ladies Italian Open in 2021.

The 18-year-old became a member of the Ladies European Tour (LET) and turned professional the day before the Jabra Ladies Open.

For his first start as a professional, Malchirand completed a lap of 69, including three birdies and a bogey, and is looking forward to the future that awaits him.

“It's amazing, I am so enthusiastic and this is my first event as a professional! I am a little less stressed, calmer. I really know the course here and I love it, it's amazing to play here ”, said Malchirand.

“I looked at the LET schedule and thought it would be really fun and I'm so excited to travel and meet new competitions and new people. It's the first round, so we'll see, but it would be great to win, and I want to do it. I will try to do my best and I will do the same things as usual. "

Malchirand is joined by her companions, the French Anne-Lise Caudal and the Scottish Kylie Henry, who won two victories over the LET, the Thai Atthaya Thitikul - who is the youngest winner of the LET - and the Slovenian Pia Babnik, who is the youngest member of LET.

Six players are T8 after playing 70 (-1) on the first day, including the Brazilian Luiza Altmann, the Australian Whitney Hillier, the Moroccan Maha Haddioui, the French Camille Chevalier, the Finnish Krista Bakker and the Spanish Laura Gomez Ruiz.
