It also makes it possible to calculate distances with precision thanks to an image stabilization device with Zoom x6 and feedback information by vibration. The Approach Z82 locates and measures all distances, to obstacles or to the flag, with an accuracy of 25 cm.

Designed to improve the consideration of the situation for each stroke on the course, the Approach Z82 offers precise measurements to orient swings ranging from 25 cm to 411 meters from the flag.

The device also offers full color 2-D CourseView mapping, viewable through the viewfinder lens, over more than 41 courses around the world. Thanks to an improved distance calculation, golfers will be able to reach the flag more easily with the Approach Z000 than with previous models.

“The Approach Z82 builds on the foundation of our first rangefinder, combined with some of the most innovative features on the market, to provide golfers with greater accuracy, both in depth and distance. A set of essential functions - supplemented by information on wind speed and direction and a more precise calculation of distances - combined with a redesigned viewfinder for greater comfort and extremely clear images, make the Approach Z82 a precious tool that will delight golfers of all levels ”, said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of global consumer sales.

The features of the Approach Z82

The Approach Z82 offers an even more precise laser telemetry system with new optics, for even more performance. The improved optics of the Approach Z82 produce sharper images and its viewfinder provides better eye relief of 6mm to provide a clear display of the information displayed in the viewfinder.

The Viewfinder feature also allows golfers who wear glasses to view the entire display through a high-resolution OLED screen. In addition, Flag Finder can detect the flag and precisely confirms its exact distance.

The new Approach Z82 rangefinder is distinguished by additional details on the routes, easily visible in the user's peripheral vision.

Thanks to the assimilation of GPS technology and CourseView mapping, a 2D image of the hole is superimposed in the viewfinder, along with the distance to major obstacles and layups. As soon as the Approach Z82 “locks” the flag, the map automatically zooms into the green, causing a laser measuring arc to appear at the specified distance. This arc indicates to golfers the position of the flagstick in relation to the front and back of the green.

By displaying the distance and wind speed1, the Approach Z82 allows you to choose the right club with full knowledge of the facts. In addition, thanks to the new Hazard View feature, golfers can scroll down the list of obstacles and zoom in on each of them to access detailed information. They will know what the distance calculations to the front and rear of the obstacles correspond to - even when they are not visible.

The viewfinder also offers many features that the user can activate or deactivate according to their current needs. By taking advantage of the Distance PlaysLike function, which adjusts the distance according to the drop in the course, players can interpret the actual distance of the shot, compensate for any drops in order to measure the actual distance to be covered. In addition, the PinPointer option offers the decisive advantage of indicating the direction of the green when playing blind. The rangefinder also offers "tournament" mode, signaled by a visible light on the device and approved by The R&A2. This option cuts functions prohibited in competition such as Pin Pointer and Plays Like Distance.

Connectivity

Golfers can calculate scores and track stats with the Approach Z82 by uploading their scorecards to the free Garmin Golf app, a handy tool that keeps history of course stats, rankings, and scorecards. Finally, a golfer who misplaces his rangefinder on the course has nothing to fear: thanks to the new Find My Garmin feature, he will be able to easily find his device.

Autonomy and resistance

The Approach Z82 has a range of up to 15 hours on a single charge, ideal for a golf weekend. Its housing is solid and has an IPX 7 seal up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, allowing the golfer to play in the rain and rinse the device after the game.

Approach Z82 pricing and availability

The Approach Z82 is available now for a suggested retail price of € 649,99.
