The Amundi Evian Championship is launched and after this first round, it is a Japanese who dominates the rest of the player field, Ayaka Furue. She places herself as the leader with a -8 card. Perrine Delacour will have carried the French colors high by signing a card of 66 (-5), she is fifth!

The best players in the world have settled in the city of Evian this week for The Amundi Evian Championship. Formerly the Evian Masters, in 2013 it became the only major tournament to be played in continental Europe.

The first round of The Amundi Evian Championship has given its verdict, and the leader of the event is called Ayaka Furue. The Japanese returns a card of 63 (-8) during this first day with nine birdies for a bogey. Nelly Korda and Brooke M. Henderson ambushed one hit behind at -7.

The colors of France are also represented at the top of the leaderboard thanks to the fine performance of Perrine Delacour, fifth after the first day. With seven birdies for two bogeys, she signs a card of 66 (-5) and places herself in the right car alongside players like Lydia Ko or Jin Young Ko.

Race to CME Globe leader Minjee Lee ranks 39th with a 70 (-1) card. She signs three birdies for two bogeys on her part.

Pauline Roussin-Bouchard is 64th at the limit of the Cut. The young Frenchwoman plays in the PAR during this first round.

Agathe Laisné, having been invited by the authorities of the tournament, plays 72 (+1). She is 84th. Céline Boutier, French number 1, also plays 72 (+1) to open her tournament in Evian.
