The frac wanted to redevelop and enhance the reception area of the Plateau, in order to create a warmer environment, a more friendly relationship with contemporary art, and to welcome the public in the best conditions.

Tovo + Jamil have designed adapted and optimized furniture and revised the layout of the place, in order to improve the readability of the different spaces and their functions and to enhance their accessibility.

Thus, the reception area is equipped with:

  • a reception desk, support for communication and mediation tools, and convertible into a bar on the evenings of the Plateau-Apéro
  • a space to consult documentation related to the exhibition
  • a bookstore space dedicated to the editions of the frac and its partners
  • new practical features, including a cloakroom space (lockers), for more comfort, as well as benches serving as storage chests for groups.

Tovo + Jamil

Designers by training and alumni of the National School of Industrial Creation (ENSCI-Les Ateliers), Tovo + Jamil's activities today focus on “space design” with a particular interest in cultural mediation and innovation in places of education (“Plateau d'Innovation Pédagogique” of the Institut Catholique de Paris) and private, professional and commercial living spaces (fittings of apartments, shared offices, bars and restaurants ).

Considering creation in its most diverse meanings and scales, they collaborate with various scenographers and graphic designers for the creation of temporary and permanent exhibitions (exhibitions at the Quai Branly Museum - Jacques Chirac, at the National Museum of Asian Arts - Guimet, at the Historial de la Grande Guerre in Péronne), with architects as part of architectural creations or renovations (National School of Architecture of Paris-Belleville, Museum of Fine Arts of Valence, Museum of Crystal and Perfume at Baccarat), but also with choreographers as part of more unexpected artistic projects (micro-architectures for the participatory piece "Les Veilleurs" by Joanne Leighton).
