Marrakech, Morocco - Assoufid Golf Club, located near the effervescent "red city" of Marrakech, has just been voted best new golf course in Africa 2014 during the first World Golf Awards.

This announcement, made on Saturday November 15 at a gala organized at Quinta do Lago Resort, in Portugal, comes two weeks after the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) named Marrakech as the 2015 golf destination for Africa and the Gulf countries.

Against the backdrop of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains of North Africa, Assoufid Golf Club offers a par 72 course in a desert style, as well as a luxurious club house and a world-class restaurant.

This course is the first design by Niall Cameron, Scottish PGA professional and former regular customer of the Tour, and it officially opened on 1er October 2014.
