Alison Nicholas, who counts the 1997 US Women's Open among her 16 career international titles, including 12 on the Ladies European Tour and four on the LPGA, has appeared in the Solheim Cup six times and twice as captain, who has led the European team to victory at Killeen Castle in Ireland in 2011.

"I'm happy to have received this call, I can't wait to get involved with the juniors"said Nicholas, after receiving the news at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open in Abu Dhabi, where she was a commentator on international live television coverage.

“It was a real honor and a privilege to have been asked. It will be exciting to see the future of women's golf and to work alongside the juniors and I am honored to be working with the Solheim family again. I went to the 2013 game and it was fun to see such talent and I think the tournament is a big step in the progression of the players. PING wants to help young people progress in the game. The players will build great friendships, they will have a fantastic experience and they will learn to be part of a team. "

“From my own perspective, it will be great to help the juniors and give them all the advice I can. I hope to motivate the girls who will be part of the Ladies European Tour in the future and it is really exciting. I will be able to tell them the anecdotes of the Solheim Cup 2011 in Ireland and get the players to have fun, be positive and focus on their game. I will be able to give illustrations of other players and how they coped with the pressure during the match. I can't wait to be involved. "

The Solheim Cup, the most prestigious team event in professional women's golf, is named in honor of company founder Karsten Solheim and his family. Played every two years, the teams feature the best female players from the Ladies European Tour and the best female players from the LPGA.

The 2017 PING Junior Solheim Cup will be hosted at Des Moines Golf & Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa from August 15-16, 2017 and will be the ninth edition of the event. The United States had the best performance to date with 5-2-1.
