The 21-year-old Dutchwoman, from Arnhem in the Netherlands, played 70, 66, 67 and 68 to finish at 17 under on par, with a lead over Shi, who committed a bogey on the last hole at Orient Golf Club.

Valentine Derrey fought hard not to give in to the Xiamen Orient Golf & Country Club course on the last lap. The Frenchwoman, thanks to birdies at 9 then 11, returned to par, and made up for her third mistake of the day - bogey at 13 - with a final birdie from the next hole. It was therefore on a 72 (par) card that the player trained in Saint-Cloud concluded her good week in China, which earned her eighth place in this Xiamen International Ladies Open, at -6 overall. This is her best result of the season on the Ladies European Tour, and her second top 10 after that recorded in New Zealand in February during the opening tournament. Next meeting for LET players: the Sanya Ladies Open, on the Chinese island of Hainan, from October 27 to 29.
