The young Thai Ariya Jutanugarn won the Women's British Open by winning the first Major title of her career as well as a fourth victory this season! Karine Icher finished 25th.

Ariya Jutanugarn takes the Ricoh Women's British Open in Woburn with a -16 card, finishing three strokes ahead of her rivals, Ariya Jutanugarn has shattered all illusions among her pursuers, Mirim Lee and Mo Martin (-13), to hope for something other than a second place. After a big start this season, a series of three victories started in May and this first Major title, the young Thai girl aged only 20 confirms all her talent.

First Grand Slam title for Thailand

No one had so far managed to bring back a Grand Slam title to Thailand, men and women alike, it's done, Ariya Jutanugarn enters the history of golf in the Land of Smiles  “I was very nervous today, especially after my double bogey at 13. But this mistake helped me. My caddy spoke to me and told me to calm down ”said the player who took advantage of her failure at ANA Inspiration in April. With this first Slam title in his pocket, Jutanugarn becomes a credible rival for the world number one, 40th in the British Open this Sunday.

Icher 25th, in the stating blocks for Rio from August 17 to 20

Karine Icher with her 25th place, signs her best result in Majors. his successive cards of 73, 69 and 71 on the British course at Woburn offer him all the serenity necessary for his preparation for the Olympic Games in Rio (August 17-20) and for the last Major of the season, the Evian Championship (September 15-18).
