Bryson DeChambeau winner of the last US Open was surprised by the French Antoine Rozner who offered himself a first success in the match-play world championship, just like Victor Perez against Marc Leishman.

For his first participation in the match-play world championship, Antoine Rozner, 58th player in the world, could hardly hope for a better start. Victorious of the Qatar Masters, a few days ago, his second title on the European Tour, the French won his first 2up match against the American world number 5, winner of the last US Open and the Arnold Palmer Invitational at the Beginning of the month.

The Racingman was never impressed taking the advantage on two of the first four holes before counting three lengths in advance at the start of 13. Bryson DeChambeau more aggressive put the pressure on the Frenchman coming back to a point to two holes of the outcome of the match. However, the Parisian kept his calm, managed his lead well, finally winning by two points in advance, in particular thanks to a successful birdie on the 18th hole.

The other French competitor Victor Perez 33rd in the world ranking also started perfectly tied with Leisman on the first 9 holes, the Tarbais accelerated the pace, winning in quick succession the holes number 12 and 13 to pass in the score for the first time in this duel. Pocketing the 16, Victor Perez was able to seal his victory at a hole in the end of the game by sharing the number 17. At the same time, Sungjae Im took the best of a short header on Russell Henley, Victor's second opponent. Perez, and shares first place in their group with the French.
