First success and first goal achieved for Valentine Derrey by signing a card of -3 (70) for a total of -7 over the three rounds this Sunday at the Turkish Open.

This is the goal she had set with her federal coach Karine Mathiot, already approached twice at the end of the 2013 season, after two second place in India in New Delhi and a few weeks earlier in the Lacoste Ladies Open in in Chantaco in the Basque Country where she has settled since her return from the United States.

The 26-year-old Frenchwoman has now gone into high gear and hopes to win a participation in the next Solheim Cup.

“I'm happy I was able to remain patient and I think I learned a lot from my podiums last year. My next goal is of course to be part of the Solheim Cup team ”

The Saint-Cloud player climbed to third place in the LET Order of Merit behind Gwladys Nocera and Charley Hull.

Great performances by French women with three top 10: Sophie Giquel-Bettan, Alexandra Vilatte and Gwladys Nocera. For her return to competition Julie Gréciet ranks 19th.
