Cristie Kerr, will celebrate her 26th appearance at the US Womens Open next month and for the 24th year in a row. Thanks to an exceptional invitation that she accepted, the former title holder who won the major in 2007 will be at the start from June 3 to 6, announced the USGA.

Kerr, who has two major wins in his 20 LPGA Tour wins, was in danger of missing the major from June 3-6 at the Olympic Club after dropping to 100th place in the standings this season.

"I am grateful to everyone at the USGA for this special exemption and the opportunity to continue playing in what I consider to be the greatest championship in our sport."Kerr said in a press release. “I can't wait to get to the Olympic Club and compete in my 26th US Womens Open. "

The 43-year-old American has placed eight times in the top 10 of the US Womens Open, most recently in 2016.

Kerr won the 2007 US Womens Open at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club in Southern Pines, NC, where she edged Lorena Ochoa and Angela Park by two strokes to clinch the first major of her career.

Kerr, who also won the Women's PGA Championship 2010, has missed the cut in her last two starts and her best result this season was a shared 28th place in the first major of the year - ANA Inspiration - in April .
