The Vaudreuil Golf Challenge, tournament on the calendar of the European Challenge Tour, begins this Thursday, July 24 on the magnificent course of the PGA France Golf du Vaudreuil.

20140718_VaudreuilJean-Claude Forestier, owner of the PGA France Golf du Vaudreuil since 2008, is delighted to welcome the elite of the "second division" of the European Tour for the second consecutive year. The players present hope to garner precious points in order to finish among the Top 15 in the general classification, synonymous with direct access to the European Tour in 2015.

The particularly raised international plateau will face a reshaped course since it presents this year with a par of 71, and not 72 as last year, for a length of 6.183 meters, hole number 15 being played in par of 4 meters for the tournament. The presence of more intense roughs and greens still as cramped, firm and fast, will make the course even more spectacular.

On the player side, watch the Spanish Jordi GARCIA PINTO, current number 1 in the Challenge Tour ranking. 11 players from the top 15 of this ranking will also be present.

They will face former winners on the European Tour such as the Swedish Johan EDFORS, the French Jean-François LUCQUIN, the Dutch Marteen LAFEBER, the English Ross McGOWAN, the Welsh Rhys DAVIES or the Scottish Raymond RUSSELL.

The Vaudreuil Golf Challenge is very happy to welcome the English Matthew FITZPATRICK, winner of the 2013 US amateur, who played and passed the cut during the last US Open and during the Alstom Open de France (26th in the final ranking ). The presence of Garrick PORTEOUS, British amateur winner 2013 and present at the Golf National at the beginning of July, completes a most attractive plateau.

Finally the former player of the European team of Ryder Cup 2008, the Englishman Oliver WILSON honors us with his presence.

Regarding the tricolor representatives, we can note the presence of Thomas LINARD (currently 9th in the ranking of the Challenge Tour), David Bobrowski, recent 18th of the last Alstom Open in France, Michael LORENZO-VERA or even Joel STALTER.

Many of you are expected from Thursday 24 to Sunday 27 July on the magnificent PGA France Golf du Vaudreuil for this "small" French Open. Entrance is free for the public.
