Last March, eight different prizes were awarded to recognize those who have marked French golf. The highlight of the evening was the dedication of Gwladys Nocera and Victor Dubuisson to the titles of Golfer and Golfer of the Year.

This great first had been widely acclaimed by the many players in the golf world (institutions, players and players, partners, organizers, media, etc.) but the organizer's desire was to succeed in bringing together even more widely for the second edition , while taking into account the increasingly dense sports calendar. Golf # together therefore consulted widely with the golf world to define the best possible date.

It is now at the end of the season and more precisely on the second Monday in December that enthusiasts of the little white ball will meet in Paris to celebrate the highlights of the past twelve months. “The purpose of this evening is to highlight the performance of the French golfers' season. As an organizer, our priority for this second edition is to ensure the presence of the players. They strongly support our initiative and we therefore naturally exchanged with them to try to find the ideal date. The members of the jury of the first edition were also very involved in this reflection and I thank them for it. The second edition of the Golf Trophies takes off today with the announcement of this new date. We will now be able to work on the success of this great evening, ”explains Antoine Robin, creator of the Golf Trophies.

Thomas Levet, new President of the jury

Jean Van de Velde largely contributed to the birth of the Golf Trophies. Support from the start, he assumed the difficult role of President of the jury last year. As agreed in the statutes of the Trophies, he hands over for 2016. For the second edition of the Golf Trophies, he is once again an iconic personality in the world of golf: Thomas Levet. He will be responsible for leading the jury of experts who will decide on the personalities, institutions or partners to be rewarded. “Jean was the pioneer. Thomas takes over. It is an immense honor to welcome him at the head of our jury. These successive big names in golf prove to what extent this evening occupies a special place in the world of French golf » specifies Antoine Robin.

Winner of 6 European Circuit tournaments, including the Scottish Open 2004, the Spanish Open 2009 and the 2011 French Alstom Open at the Golf National, beaten in play-off of the British Open 2002 by Ernie Els, Thomas was the first Frenchman to win the Ryder Cup on the European team in 2004 in the United States. It is therefore one of the most beautiful achievements in French golf and is very close to the founding lines of this exceptional evening: highlighting the performances of French men and bringing the golf family together. "I am very happy to chair the jury of the 2016 Golf Trophies. French golf is in full swing and it is with pleasure that the jury will reward the most deserving French golfers with pretty trophies" enthuses Thomas Levet.

Until the next edition, on December 12, the Golf Trophies will continue to award the title of Golfer of the month to highlight the exploits of French women and men throughout the year.

Reservations for VIP seats to attend the evening fixed for December 12, 2016 are already open.
