From April 23 to 27, 2019, nearly 160 players, amateurs and professionals of 15 different nationalities will meet on the hundred-year-old greens of the Golf de Biarritz le Phare, in honor of Simone Thion de la Chaume, pioneer of women's golf.

These international competitors will compete during 3 days of stroke play competitions during the 21rd edition of the Simone Thion de la Chaume Trophy, Open International Seniors Dames, or the 6rd edition of the STC Cup, for amateur players with an index that does not allow them to participate in the Trophy.

The Belgian, Sylvie Van Molle, winner of the 2018 edition of the Simone Thion de la Chaume Trophy, will put her title at stake against the best European amateur players like Nathalie Lamboult, 2018 French champion and Maria de Orueta, vice-champion of Spain 2019, and against international professionals, during this benchmark tournament, selective for the European championship by team senior ladies.

Having become over the years an institution of senior women's golf, this competition was created by Catherine Lacoste in homage to her mother Simone Thion de la Chaume. United by the same passion, these two great ladies of women's golf have an impressive track record. In 2, Catherine Lacoste won the British Women's Amateur on the Royal Portrush course, 1969 years after Simone Thion de la Chaume: they became the only mothers and daughters to have won this prestigious competition. That same year Catherine Lacoste will also be champion of France, winner of the US Women's Amateur, and the Spanish Open.

A high-level competition in the tradition of great players, a moment of sharing with partners and volunteers, good humor: the Simone Thion de la Chaume Trophy is the great celebration of senior women's golf!
