From May 9 to 11, 2017, women's golf will be in the spotlight on the Chantaco course in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. The Simone Thion de la Chaume Trophy will bring together amateurs and senior professionals for the only Open International Seniors Dames taking place in France. It will be followed from May 11 to 13 by the STC Cup, for players with an index that does not allow them access to the Simone Thion de la Chaume Trophy.

This competition was created in 1999 by Catherine Lacoste in honor of her mother Simone Thion de la Chaume, pioneer of women's golf. At the time, it welcomed around forty participants, less than 18 in number. In 19 editions, 170 players are at the rendezvous, and 2/3 of the participants in the Simone Thion de la Chaume Trophy have an index less than or equal to 5.

Thanks to our partners, various highlights punctuate this week of high-level competition: yoga session, XXIO fitting, Gala dinner, draw for the French League against Multiple Sclerosis, prize-giving cocktail Hélianthal Thalazur…

One watchword for these international competitors: conviviality, around the greens but also during the various events in honor of these great golfers. It will be an opportunity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Catherine Lacoste's victory at the US open in 1967 on the Hot Springs course in Virginia. To date, it remains the only amateur to have won the US Open, and with Patricia Meunier-Lebouc the only French to have won a major tournament.
