Having climbed into the elite of the first division for four years now, the Terre Blanchee won its second Gounouilhou in a row, a feat achieved for the last time by Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche during the 2007-2008 season.

Arrived favorites after their victory in 2020 against Bussy, on the golf course of La Baule, the Terre Blanche players finished fifth in strokeplay.

In dire conditions throughout the week, the players of Nîmes Campagne finished first in qualifying on their land.

Despite everything, big surprise from the quarter-finals, Campagne faced Palmola, eighth after qualifying, and was eliminated.

Another surprise, the Bussy club, winner in 2019 and finalist in 2020, finished ninth in strokes and can no longer claim the title.

The club is still holding on by winning its match against Saint Donat, 4,5-0,5.

The Terre Blanche club meanwhile, won in the quarterfinals against Amiens with a score of 4-3.

They then face Palmola in the semi-final, winner over Nîmes Campagne.

Terre Blanche wins again, with a score of 5,5-1,5 and goes to the final.

This final opposes them to the Biarritz club. Winner in 2018, the Biarrots are participating in their third final in four years.

From the morning foursomes, Terre Blanche takes the lead by winning both matches.

Terre Blanche therefore only needed two wins in the singles in the afternoon.

A first point is brought by Camille Bordone against Nathan Trey, with a 5 & 4 victory.

Behind, Antoine Auboin closed the gap by winning 5 & 3 against Paul Margolis.

It is finally Martin Couvra who brings the point of victory on hole number 17: he wins 2 & 1 against Faustin Labadie-Destenaves.

Terre Blanche thus won the final 4,5-2,5 against Biarritz and retained its title.
