Castle life at the Trianon Palace

Facing the Palace of Versailles, the Trianon Palace cultivates French refinement. In 2007, the decorator Fiona thompson took an inspired look at the entire Palace to give it that chic and contemporary air. Installed on the upper floors, on the Versailles park side, I never stop admiring this piece of paradise that has hosted Sarah Bernhardt, Proust and John Rockefeller. Before visiting the premises, I take advantage of the 200 m² swimming pool designed on the model of the Greek baths and surrounded by French windows overlooking the garden. Everything's fine !

In the footsteps of the Sun King

I am going to rediscover the castle, its outbuildings and the 830 hectare park, proof of the gigantism of French royalty. It is also impossible to overlook the recently renovated Marie-Antoinette home. Everything here is only refinement and dapper colors, quite in contrast with the country style and nature of the exterior.

Royal dinner

A toy of the Scottish starred chef Gordon Ramsay, the eponymous restaurant overlooks the castle park where Marie-Antoinette's sheep and goats graze. Here I am facing History. Royal! Produced by executive chef Frédéric Larquemin, the menu alternates between traditional dishes and more contemporary compositions, such as Pâté en crusted with poultry, foie gras and pistachio, Cod steak, fragrant arroz bomba, pequillos and marinière jus, soubise condiment or even Citrus crystalline, candied lemon. I feast on seasonal products and delight in the wines recommended by the sommelier. There is no need to say: Versailles inspires!

Head for the national golf course

I wait until the next morning to embark on the already legendary Guyancourt National Golf Course, which will host the Ryder Cup. The 18-hole course, particularly pampered to host the holy grail of golfing events, the Albatross requires good technique, prepared to welcome the best European and American players, its narrower fairways for this occasion leave no room for chance, especially at the departures of the holes 1, 2 and 3 where the large pieces of water that intersect it are there to welcome you and do not allow the slightest error. I think of the undisputed king (one more!) Of golf, Tiger Woods, and I cross my fingers that he is selected as a player.

After the effort

Back in my Palace to end the weekend in style. Head to the Trianon Palace spa to test the treatment Perfect swing and avoid stiffness. I get lost in the sumptuous Spa Guerlain (2 square meters!) Before letting myself go under expert hands that work my ligaments and tendons like the strings of an instrument, stretching and smoothing in both directions. I feel my body loosen and my pains subside. A royal final note, like my stay.
