The Pro V1 and Pro V1x are the choice of an overwhelming majority of golfers at all levels of the competition, as well as the best-selling models in the world. They continue to set the standard in performance through constant innovation in R&D, as well as an industry-leading manufacturing process. A new core and new aerodynamic designs are among the advancements of 2017:

The longest Pro V1 ever made. The 1 Pro V2017 has been designed with a new generation ZG Process 2.0 core to gain distance on all shots thanks to reduced spin in high play and greater ball speed, while preserving the great softness to the touch and the superior performance at the small game sought by gamers. A new spherical arrangement of the 352 alveoli in tetrahedral patterns provides a penetrating trajectory and even better flight consistency.

The extraordinary distance of the 1 Pro V2017x, equipped with a dual ZG Process core, is increased thanks to a new arrangement of the 328 cells in tetrahedral patterns. This design produces a high ball trajectory with more consistent flight than ever before.

The 1 Pro V1 and Pro V2017x consistently deliver superior performance in the small game. The elastomeric urethane outer shell process, a component used for both models, is precisely formulated to provide excellent stopping capability (Drop control). and-Stop) on shots played around the greens, with a soft feel. These features allow golfers to perform better and gain the confidence to send the ball closer to the hole. The soft, elastomeric urethane outer shell created by a chemical reaction that occurs during molding also gives it long-term durability.

When choosing between the Pro V1 and the Pro V1x, golfers will notice the differences in terms of flight, feel and speed of rotation (spin). The Pro V1 flies lower, with a tight trajectory, and it feels smoother. The Pro V1x, on the other hand, flies higher, offers a firmer feel, and has a higher spin speed on irons.

Every Pro V1 and Pro V1x is manufactured by our Titleist associates in our state-of-the-art bullet production facilities, to the highest specifications and performance standards in the industry. This investment in quality control ensures the most consistent performance, bullet after bullet, box after box. This is essential in order for golfers to consistently repeat the same types of strokes on every round.

Advanced aerodynamics

Aerodynamic progress results in a more constant trajectory:

  • The Pro V1 and the Pro V1x both feature redesigned air pockets. These are placed differently, which further improves the homogeneity of the surfaces.
  • During the manufacturing process, for each ball, we use cavity molds to form the outer shell of elastomeric urethane, as well as the pattern of the cells. Tens of thousands of cavity molds are required to supply the Pro V1 and Pro V1x urethane molding lines. In order to ensure consistency on every bale, it is essential that every cavity mold produces the same result. To guarantee this level of precision, the operations team has always manufactured the cavities and the tools necessary to manufacture these cavities (called “cooking plates”) in-situ. We have invested in new equipment in order to further reduce the tolerance level of the master plates.

These advances both in the design of the cells and in the production of baking sheets allow to produce new models of Pro V1 and Pro V1x which offer a more aerodynamic and more constant ball trajectory.

“If a golfer hits a certain number of balls, they will pass them through a 'window' in the air. What we did with the 1 Pro V1 and Pro V2017x was reduce that window, and that's what led us to this result of more consistent flight, ”said Bill Morgan. “We do everything to make sure the Pro V1 and Pro V1x are a piece of precision equipment. We know that what matters to every golfer on a course is this consistency. "

BILL MORGAN, Senior Vice President, Titleist Golf Ball R&D: “No matter what their skill level, there is an easy choice for golfers when it comes to choosing the best ball for their game,” says Bill Morgan. “The Pro V1 and Pro V1x will both allow you to score lower. The decision is purely related to the flight of the ball, the feel and the speed of rotation (spin). As we told the Pros, although you're a 'V' or an 'X', we think this is a real opportunity to re-evaluate both 2017 models to determine if the best bullet for your game is Pro V1 or Pro V1x. "

MICHAEL MAHONEY, Vice President, Titleist Golf Ball Marketing: “Whenever we undertake the development of new Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls, our goal is to further raise the benchmark for golf ball performance,” says Michael Mahoney. “We are always on the course talking with golfers of all skill levels to find out how we can help them score lower. At the same time, the Titleist Research & Development and Ball Production teams are working together to develop new technologies that deliver unsuspected performance for all players. Because of our commitment and because we own all stages of the manufacturing process, we are able to deliver significant improvements in performance, and make the best golf balls even better. "

Validation by players

The new Pro V1 and Pro V1x have achieved immediate validation and great success in professional tournaments around the world. Jordan Spieth, who was playing the new Pro V1x for the first time in competition, won the Australian Open in mid-November. Two weeks later, Brandon Stone played the new Pro V1 when he won the Alfred Dunhill Championship, European Tour event. Last weekend, Tommy Fleetwood won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship with the new Pro V1x. In total, more than 100 players from all over the world have played with the new models since the start of the Tour introduction and validation process that took place at the end of October on the PGA Tour. Among them were Adam Scott (Pro V1), Jimmy Walker (Pro V1x), Kevin Kisner (Pro V1), Webb Simpson (Pro V1), Charley Hoffmann (Pro V1), Ian Poulter (Pro V1x) and Thongchai Jaidee (Pro V1x ).

ADAM SCOTT: “For me what's amazing about the new Pro V1 is the distance. I have never typed this far, and on top of that, I have that smooth feeling like when I played with a balata when I was younger. She's really sweet. ”

JORDAN SPIETH: “I played the new Pro V1x for the first time in Australia and with it I won in the first week. What I immediately noticed was the ball flight which was even better. The ball held its line better when there was a crosswind. ”
