Captain Gwladys Nocera will be joined by Melissa Reid, Florentyna Parker, Annabel Dimmock, Felicity Johnson, Olafia Kristinsdottir, Joanna Klatten, Holly Clyburn and Carly Booth against teams from the LPGA Japan (JLPGA), Korean LPGA Tour (KLPGA) and from Australia. Ladies Professional Golf Inc. (ALPG).

Nocera, 14-time Ladies European Tour winner, commented: “I can't wait to return to Miyoshi Country Club for The Queens presented by Kowa. Having participated in the LET team in 2015, I can tell you that this is one of the most exciting events in professional women's golf.

“There is nothing more compelling than match play, especially when the best players compete for a team under the same flag, with passion, for pride and glory. My team looks forward to representing LET and competing with our Tour teammates to celebrate women's world golf through this innovative match, in a spirit of competition and friendship. I would like to thank Mainichi Broadcasting Systems Inc. and Kowa Company Ltd. for their vision and support. "

The Queens presented by Kowa is a three-day competition featuring four teams of nine players. Each team will be awarded points according to their respective match results, with 2 points for a win, 1 point for a half and 0 point for a loss.

The game format for day one will be eight four-ball games. Day two will feature nine singles matches. The first and second day of play will be known as "Qualifying rounds".

Based on the point totals for the first two days, the match for the third day will see "The Championship Final" disputed by the first and second place teams over four games of four, as well as the "Third place final" between the third and fourth placed teams, to play more than four games in four.

There has been a change in the order of play this year, with singles matches being played on day two, rather than day three, and foursomes on day three, rather than day one. In 2015, the JLPGA team won the inaugural competition and the KLPGA team will be the defending champion having won the event in 2016.
