Sung Hyun Park dethroned So Yeon Ryu from the top of the world women's rankings on Monday without playing last week. Ryu lost the No. 1 ranking after 19 weeks when she failed in her tie for sixth place at the Toto Japan Classic.

The 24-year-old Park has won 10 victories on the Korean LPGA Tour. Park won the US Women's Open and has already claimed the LPGA Rookie of the Year award. She is fortunate to become the first player since Nancy Lopez to win the Rookie of the Year and the Player of the Year in the same season.

Sung Hyun Park will play in China before the season closes at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida.
