The program of departmental meetings

In the sports field, the development of women's practice is certainly one of the significant developments in recent years.

However, sport is still struggling to combine women at different levels: accessibility, responsibility, representativeness, visibility, financial support. Sportspersons remain, in most disciplines and at all levels, exposed to discrimination and gender inequalities.

To reflect on and get involved in women's sport, the Loire-Atlantique Department organizes discussion sessions on this theme. "Changing the lines in sport is building a more egalitarian society" according to Malika Tararbit, vice-president of sport and outdoor activities of the Department. The high female level

The Department supports the high level of sport. For women, it is involved with the three flagship clubs: Nantes Atlantique Handball, Nantes Rezé Basket and Volley-Ball Nantes, which benefit from financial support and actions to promote their practice.

The players travel once a year as close as possible to their home crowd, outside of official matches, during training sessions organized with the Department. Young people from clubs and departmental sports activities participate in educational workshops with professional players and benefit from their valuable advice.

Amateur clubs and sporting events

Other Department mechanisms allow the development of women's sports: endowments of new equipment to clubs, help in training volunteers, support for sporting events.

Schoolchildren sensitized

Each year, more than 600 schoolchildren participate in class in exchanges with high-level athletes. Among the actions, awareness raising on the theme of gender equality to address the place of women in sport is offered with the association Dame de Sport, but also interviews with players on professional careers, invitations to official matches ...

Departmental sports activities, an example of diversity and parity

The Department acts every day for diversity in sport: 13 young people between the ages of 000 and 7 practice regular activities in multisport schools and during sports animation courses, supervised by 14 sports educators. Among these young people, the participation of girls in sports activities reaches 45%.

Registration is free and open until November 9 on loire-atlantique.fr/dating-sportwomen.
