During its closure for renovations, the Théâtre du Châtelet is exported outside the walls and sees things in a big way with the revival of one of its greatest successes: the musical Singin 'in the Rain which will be installed in the sublime Nave of the Grand Palais from November 2017.

First made famous thanks to Hollywood by Gene Kelly in the cult MGM film, Singin 'in the Rain, which tells the story of the upheaval in the film industry and the profession of actor with the transition from silent to talking films, is arguably the most famous musical of all time.

Presented for the first time on the Châtelet stage in March 2015 before returning in November for 50 performances, this 100% Châtelet production met with triumphant reception. A brilliant staging full of surprises by Robert Carsen, the glamor of costumes worthy of the golden age of Hollywood, an unforgettable score, a breathtaking choreography and a cast of talented triple threats (dancers-singers-comedians): such are the ingredients behind the immense critical and popular success of this cult work, emblematic of the direction of Jean-Luc Choplin.

Singin 'in the Rain returns for several performances under the largest glass roof in Europe, to bring the magic of the Châtelet to the public beyond its walls.
