Brook Henderson, 9th at the start of the last lap, recorded an excellent clear 64 to finish at -12 and finally win the playoff against American Lindsey Weaver-Wright.

“I thought when I came in today I was too far to come back, I tried to go as low as I could and see what happened and here we are,” said Henderson, who became the 29th player. in the history of the circuit to earn a career jackpot of at least $9 million, adding up the winner's bonus of $262. “Yes, it's amazing. I like when I can win with my parents and my sister. She's always near my bag, but that makes the win that bit more special. »

The Canadian, who hit every fairway on Sunday and 16 of 18 greens, was 5 under par for the day through her first nine holes, highlighted by an eagle on the nine to tie the leader. Two more birdies on the 12th and 18th sealed his lead, until Weaver-Wright birdied his last hole to force a playoff.

Henderson's approach on the 18th hole, landed two yards from the flagstick and, as Weaver-Wright made a par, the Canadian star posted an eagle to win for the first time since DIO Implant LA 2021 Open.

“I obviously only really had one opportunity, so I just tried to go out there and hit some really solid shots. Just walking the fairway and seeing that I was quite short was a big relief. Then just needing two putts to win was awesome”, said Henderson, who is now 2-for-1 in the playoffs. “Lindsey played very well and I'm very excited. It's my tenth victory and I worked hard, my sister and my father were there and my mother is there too. Their support in difficult times and in good times is simply amazing. »
