Seamus Power will be performing in front of his fans at home for the first time since becoming a winner on the PGA TOUR. The Irishman will set off from June 30 to July 3 for the Horizon Irish Open 2022, which returns to the magnificent golf course of Mount Juliet Estate.

Seamus Power, from Waterford, has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the world rankings, rising from 434th in the world at the start of 2021, to his current career high: 40th in the world.

His feat, becoming the sixth Irishman to win on the PGA TOUR, at the Barbasol Championship last July, captivated the Irish sporting public. His place in the world's top 50 allowed him to make his debut at the Masters, at the age of 35. Seamus Power also finished 27th in the Augusta National.

Power, who has been based in the United States since graduating from East Tennessee State University, has played his national open just three times, making his last appearance in 2019. His return this year is sure to be greeted with enthusiasm. in County Kilkenny.

Before the 2021 edition, Mount Juliet had already hosted the Irish Open, for three consecutive years in 1993, 1994 and 1995, won respectively by the English Nick Faldo, the German Bernhard Langer and the Scottish Sam Torrent.

It was announced in February that all general admission tickets for Sunday at the Horizon Irish Open 2022 have sold out. There are still a few tickets left for Wednesday's Celebrity Pro-Am, as well as the first three days of the tournament; Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
