The new world number 1 Scottie Scheffler is present in this Masters. Author of a score of 69 (-3) on the first day, he made the co-best Friday card with a 67 (-5). Tiger Woods after a difficult start to the game, nevertheless returns to the clubhouse with a card of 74 (+2): he is 19th.

World number 1 since his victory in Austin during the WGC DELL Technologies Match Play, Scottie Scheffler seems to continue his march forward by occupying the top of the Masters ranking. After a first card in 69 (-3), the triple winner on the PGA Tour plays -1 on his go, before signing a return in 32 with four birdies.

He will start five strokes ahead of Charl Schwartzel, Sungjae Im, Shane Lowry and Hideki Matsuyama on moving day.

Other former winners of the event are at the forefront like Dustin Johnson, sixth at -2 or Danny Wilett, tenth at -1.

Cameron Smith, second after the first lap, was able to limit the breakage on Friday. +4 after fifteen holes, the Australian ends his game with a birdie on the 15th then a new one on the 18th. This card of 74 (+2) places him in 6th position alongside Dustin Johnson.

Justin Thomas signs the co-best Friday card with Scottie Scheffler. His six birdies for a single bogey put him back in the top 10, after his first round in 76. His best result in Augusta remains fourth place in 2020.

Tiger Woods, after roaring again in the first round with an under par card, surrenders a 74 (+2) card. His start to the game was however complicated with four bogeys on his first five holes. The Tiger was able to turn the tide from the eighth with a birdie. He signs three birdies for two bogeys at the end of the game. He is currently 19th at +1, nine strokes off the lead.

A large number of players rank at +2 in 23rd position with among them former winners of the event or members of the world top 10, whether Bubba Watson and Sergio Garcia, or Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy.

The Friday night Cut was made at +4 eliminating players like Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Justin Rose or Bryson DeChambeau.
