While the SQY National Golf Course and the entire territory are preparing to host the prestigious Ryder Cup, from September 25 to 30, residents and employees of the surrounding neighborhoods are a little apprehensive about the jubilation to come.

However, everything is planned, down to the smallest detail. SQY and the organizers have been working on adapted transport solutions for almost 10 years: parking, shuttles, traffic, public transport. An exceptional transport pass has been obtained by SQY in order to allow spectators to circulate on the entire Ile-de-France transport network with the same single ticket, throughout the week.

The Ryder Cup is being played in an urban environment for the first time and this implies special arrangements. SQY will have to manage the flow of visitors (around 60 visitors per day expected), the daily round trips of residents as well as those of employees. SQY guarantees normal operation of its public transport and makes sure to set up the necessary detours, in order to preserve the comfort of the inhabitants as much as possible.

Spectator flows at dawn

The Ryder Cup will be played at SQY National Golf from September 25 to 30. To this end, the organizers and SQY have implemented specific measures to transport spectators to the site. SQY is preparing to take up a major challenge: welcoming 60 visitors a day and guaranteeing maximum comfort for the inhabitants of the area.

On match days, Friday and Saturday morning, as soon as the site opens at 6 a.m., 30% of the public is already on site.

Significant traffic flows, whether by train or car, will therefore be between 5 a.m. and 30 a.m.

In the evening, thanks to a proposal for activities in the villages inside the SQY National Golf, the public should stay on the site until 19 p.m.

With exceptional event, exceptional measures

  • No pedestrian access to the National Golf during the 6 days: thus no wild parking near the site and traffic limitation.
  • Special “Ryder Cup” shuttles (free for all holders of places for the competition) departing from the SQY and Massy stations will transport spectators to the SQY National Golf. Spectators will therefore not use the SQYBUS lines, or only slightly.
  • Four relay parks have been distributed in Yvelines and Essonne in order to properly distribute traffic flows on different road axes and limit the impact on usual traffic. One is located east of the Golf National de SQY, in Orsay / Saclay, a place called Martinière (4 seats). Two others are in the North-West, at Versailles-Satory (000 places) and Louveciennes (2 places). A fourth relay park, reserved for staff and partners of the organization, will be set up in the commune of Toussus-le-Noble (000 places). Two-wheelers can park there for free.
  • A dedicated temporary platform will be set up at the SQY station for spectators. Shuttles will then take them to the SQY National Golf.

Traffic revised in Guyancourt and Montigny-le-Bretonneux

The station district in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, avenue de l'Europe and the Villaroyet de la Bretonnière neighborhoods in Guyancourt will see their traffic changed for a week. Roads closed or partially closed, one way, dead end: consult the temporary traffic map set up on enterdanslalegende.fr
